How to Look Good in Wedding Photos
Pro Tip #1
When it comes to your makeup, keep it simple.
You don't want to look too drastically different on your wedding day. The best bridal makeup is about being the most beautiful version of yourself.
In other words, if you generally just wear a light foundation and lipstick, then your wedding day is not the time that you want to begin experimenting with substantial contouring or a bold red lip.
Stick to simple things that will really make you pop in photos without seeming to be outrageously "not you."
Perhaps false lashes to really make your eyes more dramatic is all that you need to give you that little bit of extra glamor on the big day...and of course professionally airbrushed foundation to keep the shine at bay!
Pro Tip #2
If you don't choose to have your foundation professionally airbrushed, then be sure to tune in to those fine details.
Once your makeup is complete, you will want to set it with a finely milled powder. This will serve to seal things in place and also prevent a shiny glare in your wedding day photos.
To stay camera ready throughout the night, be sure to have a well sharpened lip liner on hand. It will be your best friend! This will ensure that your lips appear plump on film.
Pro Tip #3
Always think of your wedding photographer as an old friend.
When thinking of picture perfect images, it is essential that you get to know your photographer before the big day. If you meet for the first time on your wedding day, you simply do not have time to ensure that you will not be ill at ease with this stranger you are going to be spending the entirety of your day with.
This results in ending up with stiff shots. It is so very important that the couple is comfortable. Always meet with your photographer beforehand. Perhaps even have an engagement session prior to that they can learn as much about you prior to ensure that your comfort and confidence level with them will be at an all time high.
Pro Tip #4
Hydration is key!
When your skin is well hydrated, it is more smooth, plump and resilient. When there is adequate water on the inside the outside of your skin simply looks healthier and more vibrant and is way less prone to wrinkles.
We know using the restroom in a wedding gown can be difficult, but it is oh so important to drink lots of fluids throughout the day to keep your skin glowing and photo ready at all times.
Pro Tip #5
Master your foolproof pose.
When it comes time for the posed photos, be sure to straighten yourself out towards the camera.
It is actually a widely held myth that cheating one should toward the lens is more flattering. We see so many professional photographers pushing shoulders back...instead, square them and keep your feet in line with each other.
Practice in the mirror before the big day so your pose comes naturally anytime to see that camera pointed your way.
